Its not the first time local residents have complained about the smell or noise from workings that were ongoing on the local sewer outlet.
Reciently, a multi £1,000 refurbishment of the main sewer pipework was undertaken, with the excavation of many tonnes of earth from this bad smells source, the running of new steel pipes through fields going past rush green civic amenity tip then ongoing to the treatment works in fields behind the Tudors estate.
Other very local residents have commented on the fact that the smell being so bad at the point of road junction between Cherry Tree Ave and West Road was so bad during the summer months, the residents could not go outside to enjoy the summer weather, or even have normal windows open in the heat.
Despite all the work carried out, on occasion, the system has in the past failed, with huge sump draining tankers being called in to reduce the outflow of effluent by tankering it away for disposal elsewhere.
