Ivan, this site could be a good starting point, I should add that I've been offline for four or five days, changing ISP broadband, so I've only just seen your question.

Per capita is a Latin phrase meaning for each head.

It is usually used in the field of statistics to indicate the average per person for any given concern, e.g. income, crime.

Ivan - I can only get my hands on the 2001 Census which says Jaywick has a population of 4665.
I've also found out the following for Jaywick, (this wasn't taken from 2001.)
Avg Age is 54.
Gender Ratio Female/Male is 1:19
Population in Good Health is 54.1%
Homeownership 32%
Students 1%
Hope this helps! and i'll keep looking if you need anymore.
