LEADERS of a borough council told of their delight last night after it was highlighted the best in the country by national watchdogs.
Effective community leadership and top quality services were also highlighted while staff and councillors were saluted for having a “passion” for their work.
The recognition will mean the borough council will be flagged up by the Audit Commission as an example of “notable practice” to other authorities across the country.
