Despite the very half hearted attempt by gully/drain cleaning crews the other day, to clean out the many blocked small road water drain holes along Brooklads Roads length,
it WAS a complete waste of time for many reasons.
1) the crews missed most of the blocked drain holes as they were under water...
2) the ones attempted to be cleared were done in such a half hearted way,
its wasted effort for doing so..
3) this issue of the blocked drain holes has gone on for ages now, the latest request for action was requested by the Jaywick Forums at one of its latest public meetings,
and was taken onboard by representatives from TDC who were at that meeting.
4) simple tools are only needed for completion of this task succesfully,
but perhaps neither the sluge gully operators, nor the departments directives officers have yet been made aware of.
5) the road drain holes are NOT normal sized drain holes, but very small round holes that were cast into the sea walls design at source some 40 years ago.
In the 40 or so ensuing years since TDC`s highways road/gully teams have been in operation while the "new" sea retaining defence walls have stood,
you would have thought that at least one person would have actually looked to see just what they look like.
********************** idea ************
come down and have a look at one thats NOT blocked by debris and sand,
then report back to higher command just what you found.
A £1-99 throw away camera can focus your thoughts later with a picture
then find a piece of hose or tube that WILL fit the blocked road drain holes before you send your time sensitive road crews out on a mission to actualy clear our much requested blocked hyway road drain holes,
oh another point, count the blocked holes, then request your teams to complete the numbered task that was requested of them.
Before Brooklands Road was topped a year or so ago, ALL the holes were marked out by orange paint by an engineer,
so someone somewhere has counted them,
submitted his report,
and "others" know this information....
