smallish "islands" have been created by driving wooden stakes into the sand, then enclosing by use of wooden stake and wire fencing.
then its believed that the enclosed "islands" will be seeded to encourage wild grass type growth to take place, to enable the fine sand to be more able to resist erosion by wind as it has occured in the past.
I must admit though, that if each "island" was planted with a palm tree, it would make our fantastic beach look even better.
