Subject: Citizens Advice Bureau Tendring Reachout Project
Hi ***
I believe I may have contacted you via email before, back in March when the above project was in the pilot stage.
We have now secured funding from North Essex PCT for the next 6 months, and have been out and about in the Golf Green ward since the beginning of October. To refresh your memory, the Tendring Reachout Project is a way of bringing the CAB to the community and providing easy access to the service for those who may not have thought to, or been physically able to, visit the bureau otherwise. We know that clients often come to the bureau when they reach crisis point, but by acting proactively the Project was “nipping problems in the bud” before they became out of control.
We work by delivering leaflets on a planned route, then following these up with a home visit a couple of days later. We work in pairs and use fully-trained, CRB checked advisers to provide advice in the home, arrange an appointment at the office, refer to a specialist at the Bureau or signpost to another service. If the resident does not require any advice we simply encourage them to keep the leaflet should need be in the future. We eventually plan to work across the whole district.
I would basically like to make you aware of the Project, in the event of any concerns raised by residents, and also in the event that any referrals may be made to the Project for anyone you may come across at the forum or whom you know personally. You can provide the mobile number listed below or this email address, and if residents are low on credit they can simply text or we can call straight back. As you will see from the attached poster we can deal with a whole range of issues, as well as signposting to other relevant services form our network of contacts across the district.
I would also like to request that some of the above details could possibly feature on the Jaywick pages of essex-info.net, perhaps under the Useful Links header. We do not have a website as such but perhaps this email address and the below contact details can be displayed for any residents that may require our assistance?
If you have any questions or comments please do not hesitate to contact me.
