As those of you who have seen / listened to our news media tonight know, our coast is expecting some very high water.
In what looked like a comical situation, when i recieved my phone call from the Environment Agency to tell me to evacuate, all sh*t hit the fan...lol...
Me being me constructed some 150 leaflets to tell my mostly sleeping neighbours that i had been warned to evacuate, and as i posted them the time had rolled on to about 10-30pm.
Right i thought, move anything essential to safety, so all my files found new resting places atop of TALL cabinets.
My wifey and No. 2 daughter packed all there make-up, a few essential clothes amid shouts of.."not leaving that here" while they were soon despached to high ground sanctury of Clacton at brother-in-laws.....
By now No. 1 son was getting all phones / lights and lamps charged, medication and a few essential clothes packed for himself.
That left good old me....
Now my love of me old scoot thingy was a "worry" so No. 1 son and meself put our bikey clobber on and took to the streets having a look at the high tide at the slip way by our new lifeboat station about midnight, much to the suprise of a few E/Agency staff also looking at the tides hight, and then onto in-laws safe house storage.
Then, back we were driven by daughter No. 2 to dear old Jaywick to be left to face the elements to yet come..
It gets funnier.....
By 1pm, under a most beutiful starry night sky, we looked up to see a most amazing shooting star trailing accross our vision, the phone rings to be asked, can you bring us back now as the tides gone down a bit, so dutifull husband / dad does what he`s told, but makes a slight de-tour to fill 2 petrol cans with best vintage unleaded petrol for his generator..(just in case.)...lol....

Now we still have the tele on, sky news giving us doom and gloom, but we really are ready to all move out P.D.Quick if we need to................if its needed.....

Ok, what did you do on thursday evening then, bet you saw the news and said, nah, it wont happen here will it....lol...

Oh my, i`m now so tired, i`m really ready for bed......
........Jaywick, its like marmite, you either just love it, or hate it..........ha..ha..ha.......(i love it.)

Thanks young Lin, will try to keep our comical life up to date on these boards.
as of 8-50 am No. 1 son has looked over sea wall to find the sea "high" and high water is not untill 11-20 am today, so its the shuttle bus for the girlies again for a while.
For those who read this, we do infact have massive sirens to warn of imminent danger, BUT, when you hear them its a bit too late, but good advice to get the heck out of Jaywick...

I am SO annoyed at an article in todays (wed 14th Nov) coast gazettes post bag, from our "Cllr`s Smith and Watson.
in the article, they go on to say how thankfull they are to fellow CllrDavid Lines in his updates on the situation on last weeks flood theats..
Now am i talking to a brick wall or talking to normal beings......
as our "elected" ward councilors of Golf green, they of course should both belong to the Environment Agencies free flood warning service called FloodLine..its free, its helpfull and i receive it by mobile phone.

Its quite evident that unhelpfull ward councilors do NOT receive this free to the threat of life service, but rely on "someone" else to remind them when to run and hide or not.

This action, or lack of it, from OUR ward councilors is nothing short of deplorable.
How can they stand up and say they would be of help if they did not know.
as local councilors they are the top of the "need to know" tree on just what goes on in our ward....
