FREE bus passes can be used from 9am from August 4.
More than 30,000 Tendring residents have the concessionary tickets.
The district council recently agreed to make the start time 30 minutes earlier after users complained they were unable to make connections or use full-to-capacity buses.
Lawrie Payne, portfolio holder for benefits and revenues at Tendring Council, said: “This change has been made in response to feedback we have received from our residents.
“We have listened to people’s views and taken on board their comments and concerns.”
It had originally gone for a 9.30am start time as part of the national scheme introduced by the Government on April 1.
The passes provide free bus travel for over 60s and those with certain disabilities. Tendring has the highest number of pass holders in Essex – 32,000.
even though a chance meeting in burcarts with one of lifes spendthrifts,
or local councillors. was bemoaning just how much it will cost him and us extra in council tax for that privilidge.
basicaly i told him to stand TALL and be proud of your buss pass even if you dont use it much..
Its our right to have one, and all the others who moan about the cost can walk - jump - ride a pogo stick if they dont like it...
(i bet the moaners claim state pensions even if they have a private one)
