I'd like to do a bit of fundraising and was wondering if anybody knew of any [active] local groups that did it really? I just want to target young people to make people around my age more aware of the world and it's problems, and the local area problems too.
Also, does anybody know if there are legal requirements for fundraising groups? If I can't find anything I'm hoping to band together like-minded people to mass fundraise for various charities and local groups but I'm unsure of how to start :/
The first thing I'd like to do is a gig with a good few bands that are suitable for any and every age group I want to do this before 2008 and raise money for a good cause with it.

Saw this on blog might help.
The Institute of Fundraising provide a good intro into legal issues with lotteries

Lotteries are regulated by the Gambling Commission - they're very helpful and will be able to advise you on whether you need a license. I know several fundraisers who have telephoned them and got good advice.
