|
1st November 2007 N.A.Panel meeting, methodist Hall.
A two part meeting, public "open" meeting first.
Litter Bins from Brooklands Road adjacent to the sea wall
steps have gone missing again. There purpose is for rubbish
that also includes the dog pooh from the beach users.
As we only have been allocated one dog pooh bin that stands
in front of the resource centre, both residents and tourist are
worried about the lack suitable receptacles for bagged dog
pooh.
The panel has asked if resident groups can organise a beach
clean up day soon, more so more as its use makes it an
easier task due to the slower season.
Good news about the long awaited Police station in Lotus way
is that the Police are now the key holders to the property, and
its hoped that by the new year it will open for business.
A question raised about no cycling notices along the sea wall
by the golf course going to Clacton was raised and is being
looked into.
A resident group leader, from the F.O.B`s questioned the need
for a M U G A type facility which has plans on show inside the
community resource centre, and was duly noted.
A resident group leader from B.R.R`s questioned the
feasability of having illuminating spead limit signs erected
along Brooklands, with speed bumps also being fitted to the
new road surface, but it was explained that the essential
services that need vital seconds to attend a call out need one
fast route to not only Brooklands estate, but the highly
populated holiday camp close by in an emergancy.
Also discussed was the possable use of more officers being
aware of the need for speeding drivers being stopped by use
of speed traps.
It was talked of that Jaywick lane`s speed limit at 40 mph had
unsuccesfully been re-adopted as a 30mph limit for its length.
Crime rates in Jaywick were down since the last N.A.P`s
meeting and it was noted that the police patrols in varied
mediums were ever present during the daily 24 hour period.
The open meeting closed, but panel members remained to
discuss issues that were either outstanding or of matters that
needed to be taken foreward to its next meeting.
