On some information obtained recently dated 28 december 2007, from the offices of regeneration at Weeley...
it read.

further news recovered,
the multi agency group which is investigating the options to improve the quality of life of the residents of Brooklands and Grasslands has recently considered the outcome of further research including a flood risk assessment.
The study showed Jaywick has BETTER flood protection than many other

places on the East Coast but will be significantly challenged by the projected climate change over the next 100 years.
The flood study together with other pieces of work have highlighted the need to develop a package of measures which address the issues raised whilst maintaining the original guiding principle of an inclusive community.
The group concluded that the intial proposal for comprehensive redevelopment will NOT NOW BE PURSUED..
The agencies are determined to work with the community to improve the neighbourhood and they recognise the importance of answering residents key questions and concerns as part of any public consultation.
Further work will now be undertaken to enable detailed discussions with residents and community groups which is antisipatedwill take place in late spring 2008..
