Jaywick: £20m homes plan
From the archive, first published Wednesday 10th Nov 2004.
Plans have been unveiled for a major £20 million housing development on Jaywick seafront.
Five local businessmen are behind the scheme, hoping it will be a fresh start to Jaywick's regeneration and will help attract further investment.
They want to build about 80 new homes on the current Jaywick market site in Brooklands and the surrounding area.
Mr Sorrell said the site was currently not included for housing development, but he and the consortium hoped to get that changed.
Meanwhile, they are going to submit a planning application to Tendring Council for further discussion.
