High flier Lord Peter Mandelson, formerly known affectionately by the working population as 'Mandy', had the good fortune when as master of the art of resignation landed a top European job in Brussels , he has had to resign twice, now advises British workers who have been deprived of their jobs, by big business's careful manipulation of the rules, by telling British workers to go abroad if they want a job.

A snip from Mr Brown;
"But he also defended comments by Business Secretary Lord Mandelson, who warned against protectionism and said British workers were free to take jobs in Europe, saying it was "great" if other countries wanted to employ "skilled British craftsmen and women"."

Jack Straw is now taking a strong approach toward Peers in the Lords that have committed wrong, the likes of Jeffrey Archer are included on the list, I wonder does Baron Mandelson's previous make him a candidate for possible exclusion?

I think Mandy is so bomb-proof that they'll soon be signposting him as "Secret Nuclear Shelter"

As for Brits working abroad, I'd find it embarrassing to be in a job queue  behind a Frenchman in Paris only to hear him being told, " Je  suis desole, mon ami, I would love to give you ze job, but zere is un Anglais who I would much rather employ".

Ain't gonna happen.

Removes racist cap and goes to bed.

I never knew Baron Mandy lived in deepest Dodinghurst,

Is this a turn around or CLASS distinction?

"Phil Woolas, the Immigration minister, wants to tighten the points-based system for people from outside the EU so they do not take jobs that might otherwise go to British graduates. Between 10,000 and 18,000 well-qualified foreigners are expected to come to the UK this year to look for work without having a job lined up."

It's time for the government to come clean.

If it's all right for lower skilled workers to face cheaper labour in the jobs market why not those that have had advantage and privilege?

Time for the workers at TOTAL to be given an answer!
