I met a very nice, strong willed lady the other day,
we spoke of her life, and we spoke of mine.
I explained that we never ever have had "gas" ontap in Brooklands and Grasslands, and that my part had only just had new "modern" overhead cables changed from the old 4 wires = 2 live & 2 neutral, to the now modern legal requirement of 1 single covered/sheathed overhead power lines.
This nice woman just smiled at my comments.
I carried on about my fellow residents needs for "regenerational upgrades" where needed.
This nice woman kept smiling at my comments.
When I had finished speaking, this kind woman looked at me and explained a few things about her and her families life.
She is now a proud councilor,
and I wished her well.
She had a business at her home for years, and it was thriving.
She had family that had branched out to follow there fathers business in our Town.
At that point she remarked, electric, we have only had electric for 4 YEARS now........
Its not often I am quiet,
I was for a moment at her smiling reply.
At the same meeting, there was another councilor who labeled Jaywick, as not needing regeneration money being spent, as a £1 spent, will be a £1 wasted.
In my mind I was thoughtful of that first smiling lady councilor who had with her family, conducted a prosperous business without even "mains electric" for years, yet still smiled.
