Not sure just where to put this..(ok,lin, enough of that...lol..)...ever since "mouse move" had a bit published we in West - Clactons Gold Coast ! have had some unfair comments made about it...OK, i do know that SOME parts are, well, "not quite up to standard" but most in my avenue are just fine---SO---this is what i posted on the Gazette`s site to day............................................................OK, Look every body, its like this, in like you / me / others have to make choices, we choose if we want to live in a mad house like LONDON, or its suburbs, (or where ever) you can choose to live with your Mum and DAD and sponge, or you can choose to get a massive mortgage just to say " look at me- what a complete di*khead i am" i have a millstone around my neck for 25 years........Well i`ve been there and done that---BUT, what i`ve done is to down size, so that free`s up my massive big house to some other, nice, big, family type mug, so he can take my place in working like a looney, just to keep his head under a massive big roof.....Now then, if you go along with my thinking, then it works out that after being a mug for 25 years, i know need a much smaller roof over my head, and, guess what, i found a much smaller roof to sleep / live / have fun / under in Jaywick that does not need a fortune to run...The alternative was to go to Spain ? Bulgaria ? France ? for the same money, but no...I love G B. I also love my family, so as they live in G B i will stay in my small, little, non millstone money wasting, not be better than my next door neighbours (although thats questionable).. I live so near the sea, i could sell the smell and make a fortune, but, no, i sit here laughing at the small minded, but probably hard working bods that go out of there way to TRY and little the BIGGEST thing that has changed my life......RETIREMENT.....NO MORE WORK....NOT GETTING UP MONDAY MORNING AND SAYING, OH NO,NOT MONDAY AGAIN............i`ve been there and done it all, and good luck to those that have got to look foreward to years and years until you reach what i have got.........Jaywick, i love it, i love the people, i love the di*kheads that hate it too..........................................wish i could sell that smell though, worth millions.....lol.................................................

I know this is technically Say Something Nice About the Area ,but thought no-one would mind me saying something nice about someone on this board.
To cut a very long story short,Last year I noticed that the gate onto the railway tracks was unlocked and after loads of phone calls ,being generally messed about and sent on numerous red herrings ,the gate was locked as it was dangerous as it is on a path leading to a school ect....it took me months to get it done.
A week ago I contacted our new Councillor for the area, a nice chap called Ian Beckett about the state of the railway bridge .Not expecting a speedy reply I was quite taken by surprise to find out that he has been over there ,taken photos ect and he had also noticed that the gate was again unlocked.
Today upon walking the dogs ,I find he has already done the deed and the gate has a new shiny padlock on it and so telephoned him to say Thank You.I was pleasantly surprised to find that he is in contact with the Rail Co about the state of the bridge and he has some good ideas as to how to rectify the problems with anti social graffitii over there.
Well ,I must say I had made a few assumptions about this chap before the elections (ie about the leaflets ) but must admit a new broom seems to be sweeping clean in our area.
Never let it be said that I don't give praise where it is due. Embarassed Now I will have to find something else to moan about or I will not achieve my ambition of being the Grumpy Old Woman I strive to be Wink
