May I say Well Done to all the councillors who voted against selling the land at Elmdon Court.
This area is the only green land that divides Clacton from Great Clacton.
From what I can gather , they were led by Councillors Halliday, Fawcett, Skeels and Sambridge.
I wish them well with their plan to turn the area into the Tendring Way .
As for those who wished to sell it off....We'll go down to the woods no more once all the trees are cut down.Leave the green spaces alone, at this rate children of future generations will all play on concrete (that's if they are allowed to play).
Green open spaces may not be on everyones minds or thoughts at anytime of the year, untill you actually take notice of them, or use them.
The other morning, driving home at 4am through the lanes from Colchester to our dear old jaywick, along the way i saw dark open fields.
but on the edge of them fields i saw rabbits galore, then just before the St. Osyth turn off, there motionless, on the verge on the other side of the road was a magnificent fully grown deer just standing still looking at us as we passed by.
Now tell me you dont care about green open spaces and fields, but like living in the concrete jungals you call Towns,
we call hell.........
It's always saddened me the way our councillors have over the years voted to absorb for other uses 'our' open spaces.
When spoken to on the subject they either turn away or justify the land grab saying "progress" or words to that effect.
Old buildings that could be renovated are crumbled up into great mounds of dust and rubble to be replaced with eyesores (if we have got to remove the past why not excell it).
as i sit and type,
its such a lovley evening, not that cold,
even washing hung out earlier is drying in the gentle breeze,
our french doors are open, the sounds that filter through are of,

Live in towns.........not bloomin likely matey......ha..ha..ha..
I`ve just been outside, and our seas are gently crashing ashore and echoing between the bungalows.....marvelous..
They are indeed. The one on the right is Sister Imelda. She had just been pursued from the refectory by Sister Therese who caught her stealing a particularly large boiled potato from her plate and called her a "thieving cow".
Sister Imelda responded with a variety of phrases including, "raddled old hag" and "should sound an alarm when reversing".
After a prolonged exchange of blows, during which Sister Margaret started a book offering 2 to 1 on Sister Imeda to get wasted, Sister Imelda escaped to the roadway where she spent a few moments finding stones to conceal in her snowball before lobbing it at the irate Sister Therese. The other pictures in this series are available from all good Christian bookshops.
