Admission by Rory McCrea of Golf Greens health centre
Taken from a Jaywick Forum meeting last week:-
A HEALTHCARE boss has apologised to surgery patients, saying a new team were working to turn the situation around.
Rory McCrea, the head of Chilvers McCrea healthcare firm which runs Green Elms surgery in Jaywick, admitted that things had gone badly wrong at the practice
“I had very senior people go into the practice on a regular basis. They did not pick the issues up and they no longer work for the company. There is nothing like hindsight to educate you.”
Or as politicians say, We have learned lessons from that.
So Privatization is not a silver bullet, surprise surprise!

Amenity, if you look at Chilvers MacCrea portfolio,
they have more health centres than you can chuck a stick at.
Surely feedback from any one thats not giving its comunity just what it needs should have been picked up far earlier.

Saw your quote Amenity,
and into my head popped that little bit of a song:-
money - money - money - money - money - money - money,
money makes the world go round,
the world go round,
money makes ect.....
that was from a "not real" world too, a musical,
but,
the money being at risk of being LOST at Green Elms soon got the big, but pleasant speaking chief off his well padded backside to come and sort out OUR disater zone, the GROAN ELMS.....(correct spelling)
As we use Green Elms quite a lot, along with many local residents
(its the general age group of the area)
we are starting to see improvement,
but by jingo, just how many brought in people HAS it taken just to get this far,
this highlights just how BAD it was just a month or more ago.
It WAS bad, really bad.
What made it even worse was the attitude of front managers at a few meetings held during the summer when they expressed dismay at being unable to achieve resident doctor targets, by just shrugging of shoulders and saying,
"we are trying"
Now trying is one thing, but being unable, or half hearted in the visable approach while sitting in front of an audiance who were desperate for changes to be implemented.
I should imagine the "shoulder shruggers" have been pushed out now,
not missed either, by manner nor actions......(or inaction)

Another Chilvers MacCrea health centre, this time in Southend............
This looks to be a systemic problem Ivan, this snippet I've copied could have been said about your practice.
"NINE complaints were made by patients about services at a GP surgery in Southend which was run by a private company, ChilversMcCrea.
Patients at the Pier Medical Centre in Northumberland Avenue, were unhappy about lack of continuity of doctors, dealing with locums, diagnoses and prescribing of medications."

Only just NINE complaints Amenity, crikey, we had local residents queueing out of the doors the other day to register their complaints,
in the time allowed for it, just 50% of the complainee`s got seen to.
Still leaves PLENTY of complaints unyet listened to.
HA, just 9 ?
if we was so lucky.
The ongoing saga of my wifes complaint against Groan Elms continues,
even with it being brought before PCT`s penny Landsdown`s own eyes at one of our Forum meetings.
The slowly moving wheel has ground almost to a halt with that one.
Soon time for a short sharp stick approach methinks!
