Clacton Town Centre Safety AwardI Notice in the Evening Gazette that Clacton Town Centre has been given the first Town Centre Safety Award in Essex.Quote from Evening Gazette It also won the UK Police's Secured by Design accreditation for its efforts to "design out" crime by using enhanced CCTV cameras, extra lighting and limiting access to some roads. Unquote. I think the give away there may be the "limiting access to some roads", the new road layout and the many closed down shops has ensured that far fewer people now use the Town Centre as much. Guess that if you remove the temptation you will probably also remove the crime so that would probably make the Town Centre pretty safe. Empty but safe
