Coastal Flooding events, but also somewhere else

We hear stories of threats to coastal flooding here in Jaywick,
while those that spout danger, quietly ingnore the threats of flooding elsewhere, even nationaly or globally.

One such "at threat" area in in somerset:-

"Coastal Group chairman Humphrey Temperley added: "Coastal erosion is nothing new - communities have suffered its effects throughout history and it will go on happening. We need to look now at how we can cope with it over the next 100 years, given what we know about the resources that will be available and how the coast will change."

This paragraph says it all.

It is a cop out what is implied is,  "it is not our activities that cause this problem rather it is an entirely natural event".

People are using the earths resources at an ever increasing rate believing that growth is the only way forward, sooner or later such things as dredging, deforestation, pollution of the seas will have to be stopped.

Just as with the Credit Crunch we are living beyond our means.

Wonder what the Banks will do with all when they own the lot?

Put a flag on Mars I suppose.

Very true Amenity.

your comment about flags on Mars,
was it thought of by the failed? landing/crashing of an american spacesystem.

If the mission proved succesful,
then what next,
banks auctioning off plots for holiday homes..

the mind bogels.. Wink

Rather Ivan they will assure us that some time in the future it is certain that we will colonise Mars so buy a bit now for your decendants.

No doubt we will told the paper this ownership is printed on can be traded on the stock markets.

Secret developments in the space industry will be gleaned by the insiders and large scale buy ups will be perpetrated.

Pensioners that have invested in Mars will be defrauded at the very last minute.

At this point the public will be advised there is no better investment and demand by the sheep for space on Mars will be so high a "Bubble" will occur investors will lose  and the banks will get the lot for free, after all they printed the paper IOU's in the first place.

So strong will the banks become by this move owning Earth and Mars they will plant a flag on Pluto and the sheep people of the Earth will awaken to this deja vu and send all the bankers of to Pluto.

Some hope!

All this talk of space travel, and it reminds me of being back in saturday morning picture houses watching Dan Dare.

we watched in awe as Dan the space traveller took off and headed for the moon.
I mean, who really can go and visit the moon.

Well it seems the good `ol usa landed on the moon,
hhmmmmm,
but did they?

If they did land on the moon,
if they did plant a flag,

what next.......

I hear sales of moonbeam shares fluctuate with the seasons,
strange that eh...lol

And i was led to believe the moon was made of cheese.

never did see any american moon cheese on sale anywhere, did you,

but perhaps one or two posters just may have had some once a month. Wink
