do you use microsoft or a free operating system?Seeing Ivans recent reference to Martins Money Matters I was inspired to talk about this money saving idea.
I have toyed with the idea of using a free operating system instead of Windows for some time now and finally took the plunge with a Linux OS called Mandiriva Free 2007 Spring.
To any that want a change, try this, it sets up very well and runs fine, the disc has all the programes on it so you don't have to look for an office suite or music player etc, it's all provided.
Sounds too good to be true, it's hard to believe there are people out there that help others for no monetry gain but so it is.

" a Linux OS called Mandiriva Free 2007 Spring."
Of course this should have read 'Mandriva'
Has anybody else any experience with Linux?
Strange as it may seem there is another very good and fast version of Linux called Puppy Linux. This is good if you have an old slow computer gathering dust this will speed it up no end.

Have you got an old laptop that is a little slow these days, well you can install for FREE the new version of Puppy, 3.01 came out Nov. 7th.
Download this open source program do away with Windows when you have got used to it. It runs from a CD that you burn yourself, brillian program runs in RAM and is very small but complete. has everything you need for office, music, photos, whatever.
Try it its free.
Post your experience here.
