How many years ago was that ?

THE Channel Islands publicity departments are 14 years out of date with their holiday gimmicks, said Clacton Town Council's publicity department this week. Tuesday night's edition of the BBC's 24 Hours' praised the originality of Channel Islands public relations officers, who arranged for a bikini-clad beauty to distribute holiday literature in London's arctic conditions. Clacton first introduced this gimmick in 1920, when Daphne Moore stripped down to her swimsuit on a bleak February morning and paraded in the pouring rain on Vauxhall Bridge.

Maybe this is the missing link that clacton needs to bring the crowds flocking back into town, its leisure centres and holiday camps...

Right then, we need not only a vivacious women or two, the skimpy`ist of bikini`s, some brilliently coloured pamphlets, but more importently, some people willing to accept them.

Perhaps these super appealing attention getters could be on roller blades to enable the wearers to move in and out of the poplace with ease, and thus would give better coveridge for advertising demands...

Who`s the first up for it then......

uummmmmm.....?..?...?
