We read of areas of "unlawfulness"

we read of areas that have deprevation.

we see John Prescotts programme,
the north south divide on telly tonight.

we read of "crackdowns" in certain areas,
both upper market and elsewhere.

If you ever thought ANY area within Tendring was bad, or "not nice"

I like others I have heard our councilors talking of our area as being one of deprivation.

By what measure do you judge this?

The Harwich peninsula within which is an area of deprivation has one of the highest outright home ownership figures in the country. So it can't be that?

We have a high unemployment record (not that bad) and what about Felixstowe, last time I looked it was just as bad, even with the mighty port, so it can't be that?

Educationally deprived, well, yes that could be the problem. So why don't they say what they are to do to put it right?

Because, as a cynic would say, they need an area of deprivation to get government grants.

Not that long ago the buzz word for regeneration was good `ol Jaywick,

but, as grants dry up, a new buzz word was needed.

A brilliant buzz word was Bathside Bay,
OH how the fortunes of your peninsular would prosper, and like the king with no clothes who paraded himself infront of his oh so loyal subjects,
them oh so loyal subjects began to realise that infact the king was naked, with nothing to hide behind, even hide his own behind in,
and so time was that if Bathside Bay was soiled word, a new word was needed.

so the king sent his runners out to bring him back a new buzz word to blind his oh so loyal subjects with,
then Lo and Behold,
a new proclamation was read to all his oh so loyal subjects,

here ye,
here ye,
here ye,
from today, the kings purse keeper has decreed that from this moment in time, the new buzz word will be,

H A R W I C H,

and for ever more, the kings purse keeper made happy faces to all who were sent before him,
for he knew that contracts set out many full moons ago have finally come home to roost.

Amenity,
it was once spoken of that good stories told by wisened old men were infact read by only those who want to belive,
while others continue to still see the king in his clothes,

but fail to see his naked a$$ he sat on.
