Promises - Promises - Promises.....but are promises broken..If, just if, T D C published its Corporate Strategy for 2004 up till 2011,
and you read through it,
and you read what it said it would do,
and you expected nothing less than its published promise,
and if you found that its published promise was well short of what was said to be expected from it...
what would residents do next..
read..

Seeing as I now have no faith in TDC and its leaders I am afraid I would shrug my shoulders and say that they are keeping to form with the promise breaking.

OK, if you purchased a can of beans, and found they was carrots, you would take them back.
if you purchased a hoover, and it only picked up selected items, you would take it back,
if you purchased a light bulb that went pop after a few days, then again you would take it back..
OK then, it would be fair to assume that the hoover and the light bulb were not fit for purpose + they never done what they said they would.
Not only were they not fit for purpose, you would have to waste time and money in taking them back, to see the manager, to explain that not only was their product no good, their product never worked as promised, and a refund, or change, or a completely different replacement item would be given to satisfy the customer, who was wrongly given something...
OK then now, the can of carrots you were given in place of beans, were not what you wanted, not what you expected, but you recieved something that was completely wrong, but the outside said it was right and so you belived that what you got was correct, but you were fooled into recieving them..
Its refund or change, or both, would be given to you the customer, and as a sign of good will, i little something was given to cover your time and costs involved in obtaining a replacement, as you were fooled into taking the wrong item...
When`s polling day coming round again...
I think some of our sellers have sold us in something, not quite as it said on the box, it`s not fit for purpose, it never does what it said it would..
What do you think......

Shame on you
I am tired of sitting back and simply accepting these sort of things !. Everyone forgets the true power of people power.
If even 25% of the rate payers withheld part of their council tax because the Council had not fulfilled it's promise, do you really think they would be able to imprison all of them, of course not.
What would happen is that the media would leap on this and the council would end up resigning - we have the power, we are simply too disinterested or spineless to use it [not sure which one of the two it is]
Something like this can only work if a large number of people are prepared to join together against a situation
We need to stand up and say enough is enough
Damn, now I will probably be monitored by our Country Wide State Police

Your on the list for sure pepsi, but then so is everyone else, but the politicians however don't want to be on the list, when talking to their constituents, my toe
Every email every phone call every fax, thousands of pics taken of each of us every year. But we have nothing to fear

I think most of the time that Guy Fawkes might have had the right idea
I'm not surprised they have lied, sold us down the river etc.....the majority of them are not there to help the people but for the power and what it brings.
I remember being told a conversation that someone had with a former mayor and cllr for HTC. He said 'I thought it would be different to this, I thought it would be better for my business'. Not those exact words but near enough. He wasn't doing it for the town, for the people but for himself and what he could get out of it.
Whilst people like him stand and are elected we stand no chance. We need to hold these people accountable and make a fuss when they dont do as they have promised. And perhaps if they can't deliver on what they promised then put our money where our mouths are. There aren't that many things that stop you from standing for local office.

Now E.G. that is one dam good idea.

In my part of Jaywick, we have no credible person or persons, that are either informed of events, or asked of our futures.
we DO have a forum, but to be eligable, certain criteria is requested, if it does not meet the criteria, the man on the street is told very little, and when it is told, it is such old information, the information is usualy gleaned from other sources beforehand, deeming it stale, old news, not interesting anymore.
Further more, some residents outright distrust the forum, from past experiances, for its members loyalties, and daily lives to such an extent that your statement bears BIG on not only my mind, but many others too..

I think you'd make an excellent Cllr Ivan

Ah ,but if people like our Ivan got in ,then just what would the council do with all those humongous tubs of grease that they use at present so that our Councillors can slide their big heads through the Town Hall doors ?

As Ivan passes the grease bucket back,
I find it no problem my loyal subjects........ha..ha..ha.....
Ok, i cannot relay information on this medium about myself, but, it seems i have "pulled someones chain just once toooo much of late"

Lin, young lady,
i have more for your fun..
Succession Planning for the future..(2 year mayoral terms)
Providing effective leadership....(was that a "key" question)
Page 3 is a blinder...
improving the condition of local roads...well not last week or so, Frintons own was bleating about their local road, big enough for a horse and cart..
funny enough, i have not seen either of the bleaters in our part of Tendring, bleating about our side roads, with or without a set of gates..
Raising standards across our schools....Save Bishops Park....
Improving the quality of life of older people and of children......re:- as roads above.
Last but not least,
Public conveniences...well OK if you live in Frinton, but elswhere its not a very happy picture is it..ASK THE LOCALS ABOUT IT.....

The firm misreported its customer service performance to the regulator over a period before October 2005. It also failed to make compulsory compensation payments of £25 to customers over poor service, known as guaranteed standard payments.
SO, basicaly, "it never done what it said on the box"

It still leaves one gasping, they stole £20million and don't go to jail, it even looks as though they won't pay back all they stole.

Amenity, i wonder just how many more people in "charge" of our daily lives, have acted in the manner of the above £20million that went "missing" only to be found out later, its outcomes not yet known about...

More common than we think, more the rule I guess, otherwise such events would cause shock among our betters.
