You've got to hand it to Vicar, he really hits the nail on the head.
Trouble is our reporters can't handle a 'Watergate' so this type of event is safe.

Perhaps we should start our own news column on here and charge the local rags for copying it. I bet we could come up with a bit more newsworthy items than what they have been printing at the moment.
The East Essex Gazette used to be a really informative paper that covered a much larger area. Then it separated into smaller areas of coverage, which in itself might have seemed a good idea ,but, I used to enjoy reading about our fellow NE Essex residents and what they were getting up to ,but sadly since 'The Great Division' each paper seems a poor imitation of the original format, it has lost it's enthusiasm of late.
Why, they have even taken away our pleasure at counting the 'pointy' photos ,I haven't seen one for quite a while now.
More and more of the paper seems to be given over to advertising. So much so ,I may just,if I get Cabin Fever over the festive period, count just what percentage of the paper is news.
Great comment Vicar.

Ok, if you re read my first paragraph, it was intended, like some of my posts, to be something like a news story worth reading, would look like.
my intention was for my proboards102 site to be a daily blog from my community,
as would one from your communities be filled with news stories of importance to you.
i, like others, read both online and paper editions of our gazettes, and not just the clacton one either.
i do notice that clactons stories are most prominent on colchesters edition, more so if its "having a go" at jaywick.
this leads me to believe either,
its editorial are clacton reporters, or just like the old Dragnet recordings on the radio said,
we change the names to protect the innocent........
no coment.
Both the daily and weekly paper yesterday carried the story of the chair of tendrings council defecting to another political group, taking fellow golf green councilor kevin watson with him.
none of this newsworthy story is in the online editions anywhere as front page news, or in the readable colums of news stories to be viewed,
but a defective streetlamp, or bumpy unmade road anywhere in jaywick makes front page news.
Newspapers are papers sold under pretext of selling news,
if the news cannot be carried, for what reason are the papers sold.
in the "new look" working ethos now at archient, it apeals for community reporters to send in news stories, maybe i can fill editions with news that way !
The only problem being, is my news news to me, but only me and not you ?
