URGENT - Tendring District Replacement Local Plan - Volume 3I have just looked at the Tendring District Council website and had a quick look at the Replacement Local Plan Volume 3, I've picked out a few points and listed then below but think you all need to look at this in full and act quickly as the consulation period runs out on Friday 23rd March 2007.

OM1b.4 LAnd between Brooklands and Grasslands Social Club and the Jaywick Resources Centre, Brooklands GArdens, Jaywick - Land should form part of the adjoining site allocated in the draft plan for mixed use development
OM2.13 Former Sato Factory, Valley Road, Dovercourt - LAnd currently safeguarded for employment use should be allocated for housing development instead
As this is just a few please see the Tendring District Council website for more information on all areas affected.
I believe we need to make a stand on this because as i understand it at the moment is that even the business that are listed do not have a clue at what is being planned for their site! If all this goes ahead then we will have no green areas left, not even playgrounds and we dont have many of either of these to lose.
All this planned housing will cause even more of strain on the local NHS, Doctors, Schools etc etc, they don't work now so i hate to think what it would be like if all this goes ahead!

Take a look thru these on TDC website to see exactly how much asset stripping current TDC Alliance have been doing over a period of time in preparation for all this selling to developers.
Interesting also to note how many of these decisions are not available for public view - so much for democracy and accountability.

Cheers for the info.
Quite relevant to me as I live a few hundred yards from one of them,
I get the feeling that anything industrial or commercial is going to be pushed to the Gorse Lane area.

Seeing all this brings to mind a conversation I had with a draftsman some time ago, apparently he worked for TDC, or its forerunner in the fifties and sixties, if my memory serves me well.
His job was to scour the maps picking up all land that was not in ownership or were the ownership was doubtful and send of a claim to the land registery.
This way the council gathered up lots of "free" land.

Hmmmmm
RE Dalau site
Am I right in thinking that a plane went down there in the war ????I am sure my Nan told me about it and have a recollection of reading about it (from a book ....not the newspapers at the time ) .Anyhow did they ever fully recover it? are they allowed to build there if anyone is under there?
I feel a trip to the Local History Group coming on......

Lin, The Local History group will probably tell you all you need but I remember that "The Gazette" had several letters about that plane - I think maybe about nine months ago? Dare say "The Gazette" site would be able to tell you when etc.
