Well. I got tinking ,have any of you got some mature trees that I could loan whilst mine are growing?.
This looks like easy money ,especially after watching the video on this site by the German folks.
Looks like all we have to do is get hold of a few cheap sleeping bags from Morrisons (about £5 each) Punch a ring hole ting in each corner and attatch them high up in the trees.(I have some old washing line that should suffice) Then get half a dozen dozey Germans ,hoik them up the trees to said sleeping bags ,zip 'em in and leave them all night .
Next morning ,hoik them down again ,stuff them with porridge and send them on their way.
I note the prices that are being charged for this experience is roughly £200 a night .Well ,my reckoning is that's £1200 a pop .
Anyone want to come into business with me ??
I have checked the internet and don't see anything like this in Essex ,so who will come and climb trees with me ???
Had a wander round Wrabness woods at the weekend ,Crikey , we could have hundreds of them all strung up over there like little chrysalises .
Vicar
I would like to help on condition that we don't just stop at Germans
Lin
Could always do a Special discount for unruly councillors Vicar ....does that suit ?? ....and we won't let them down until they are deemed sensible .
Just thought .We may need to get some double sleeping bags to accomodate a few of our more 'portly' councillors.
shame that the tree on Christmas Tree Island (now known as WES) was cut down .....now that WOULD be a crowd puller.

I quite agree with your suggestion Lin but we should allow politicians from more exalted positions than mere locals, and lets hope they don't slip.
Still they could reassure us from their hospital bed that "We have learn-ed lessons".
No stand-in's allowed of course.
Lin
Agree with you Amenity. While we are at it ,we could shove some of those so called'A ListCelebrities' (most of whom I have no idea who they are) up there as well.
I can see this could be BIG.
Have to get Ivan on board though ,as he has expertise with a block and tackle to get the heavier ones up.

Fraid its not the old fashioned block and tackle these days young Lin, hydraulics rule now.
If you were from the oldschool,
at my age, my school is old,
thin white nylon rope going back and fro many times through little pully blocks, could lift an elephant if you had enough rope and pulley`s, this method is i believe the true block and tackle,
then step foreward to good old chainlink massively geared down lifting blocks.
yet again how much do you want to lift?
A sad reflection of our times is about to unfold in the guise of part time firman, who most are retained, but do other jobs, but there first job of saving lives is about to be called on by the eurocraps in eu land, so,
hydraulics, not water but the modern lifting ladders that could be seen as redundant if the eurocraps get there way.
On the plus side, once sited, the fire engine ladder lift could lift many german cocooned tree swingers in just one day.
(now i wait quietly as the miss whiplash`s of tendring call on my block & tackle)
Getting back to christmas tree island,
someone ? suggested we put stocks in the middle, for the wayward politico`s, and the disenchanted ratepayers could vent there spleens at said well stock`d politico`s, and pelt the little ruggers with nasty vegetables...
