Warship parked up by windfarm, and WHY?OK, who will be the first to tell us why the big old warship has been parked up near the wind farm for a few days now.
yesterday it was the centre of attention with a sea king helicopter buzzing around it for ages.

First of all, welcome T - T to our side of our great country.
you are more than welcome to join in with our sometimes slow message board.
Well T - T.....lol
when i went out for a paper earlier, the mystery ship had mysteriously vanished, either that or overnight they had painted it with camouflage paint and i cant see it anymore..
When i know more, i will tell thee...

..Hi Ivan.. thanks for the quick update..no news through the local grapevine then?..very mysterious indeed.. this wind farm?..I take it its an offshore one?..does it pose any problems at all?..They did propose building some near my locality but the natives kicked up a bit of a fuss..so they never built them.. Ok...will watch this space for more news.. cheers..TT

Welcome T-T .
By the way ,we seem to have all your Grockles in their Grundy bins down here .Want them back ??.

Hi young leafy tree falling lady, how are our digits of late !
from your post, are you, or have you, been at a mature bottle of west countries best vintage ?
Oh dear, that`ll make my schpielin look worser now.
Lin, i`d better tell thee young lady, i sent by the magic of all things internet`ish, your picture link of pooh and piglet to the west country....
you may well be responceable for some falling off their chairs today.
Laughter has no dialect or bounderies.

Hi there Lin.. so pleased you have great memories of Somerset..I must admit I like the county as well..Been here rather a long time too.. That cider makes most people stagger as well.. must be all the dead rats which supposedly gets into the cider.. ..Had a cream tea at Cheddar only last week..Fantastic it was.. So all the Grockles we sent your way arrived safely..when they left here they had plenty of cash with them so the traders your way will have made a mint out of them... ...You can keep them for as long as you want..we still have plenty of our own.. and they are spending money as if theres no tomorrow.. ..cheers for now.. Panic stations over then Ivan.. Probably just a training exercise then..or maybe they are checking up on you weather here in Somerset is dry but quite cloudy..could be rain in the making..you go steady with all that wiring or you might become a live wire.. great to see your another one that has a nap in the afternoons.. Ah yes Ivan i can see the logic in that.. tis "easy" just to pop in there when out in the garden home from home so to speak.. just started to rain over here..not very hard though..might be able to mow the meadow later.. enjoy your siesta, I know I will.. ..TT

Will you be taking your dogs with you as you mow the meadow ?
|
Vicar

Course he is. He has to because it's in the song.
"One man and his dog, Spot, and a bottle of pop and a sausage roll went to mow a meadow."
It's the law.
|
Lin

One man and his dog called Spot and a bottle of pop ,and a sausage roll and a packet of crisps ...went to mow a meadow ....................doh ,fancy forgetting that ,cheers Vicar .I am taking two eldest grandsons to a log cabin in the woods soon and now I can drive them mad (as is my right as a Grandmother ) in the car all the way there now

Afternoon vicar, did we wake you ?
re:- your spot, its ok, the doctors are open in the morning i believe.

If I tink Trunkerthree is where I tink he is ,perhaps we could have a Coast to Coast spot on here to compare the differences between the opposite side of the country . jst a thought.

What a brilliant site Ivan .knocks anything we have into a cocked hat.especially liked the Parish Record transcriptions .
Never quite got to Burnham but managed a great game of footie on Weston beach at sunset .Then a nice drink in a local hostelry.

Lin, i think the sheer size of country it covers is what makes it better informed, where as, in reality, its only just a few local`ish posters now on ours.
your thoughts ?

.. Good morning to you all.. Never managed to mow the meadow yesterday.. its in the plan for today..maybe.. ..weather here is cloudy but dry and a slight breeze as well..quite comfortable really.. ..Mention was made of our local forums..all I can say it gets a bit volatile at times as some of the natives fall out with each other at times...hard hats are advisable to be worn then.. to me it's nice to come to a forum like yours where it seems quite peaceful.. ...right,time for another coffee and then some chores to do.. take care...TT..

Hello Somerset ,this is Clacton calling.......
Peaceful forum !!!!!!! had to laugh at that one.
In 'Sunny' Clacton it is grey ,overcast and 'spittly'.I forcast it will be sunny by teatime.
Don't even mention lawn mowers Ivan ,I must start mine up (I do like a petrol mower as all the men who work across the road find it funny that a little old Granny can use such a machine). My daisies are coming on a treat (unfortunately).
I also have two blossoms on my new cherry tree so I will savour the moment when THE cherry is ripe.May even have a glass of elderflower with it at end of summer.

Hi T3, well today has turned very warm indeed,
unfortunatly we had to go to a funeral early this afternoon, one of clactons scooterists had passed away at 1 year past retirement.
We managed to get 30 scooters to follow to the crem, with old mateys son riding his dads scooter at the head of our proccesion.
The family said there dad would have been so proud.
The wheel of life T3, you cannot stop it...
I look outside at the blinding sunshine, hear the birds singing, the seagulls squarking, the endless blue sky`s........
the wheel spins..............
Hope all is well in zummerzet T3.....lol

It seems the warship was there to blow up a mine that had been dredged up near the wind farm.Phew ,Thank Goodness for that , no invasion imminent then , I can now sleep soundly again.

Vicar

Oh really? I'm not so sure
I was reliably informed by a fortune-teller in the Crab and Pumpkin latrines who has an imressive record on all things council-related (She is in fact Gypsy-in-residence to Tendring council and commands a salary in the region of £40000 p.a.) that it was a survey ship planning the installation of railings around the entire windfarm to prevent children playing in the fish poo which is a common feature of that area and then returning with dirty feet to pollute the showpiece beach at Martello Bay. How much more impressive would that be if they had a khazi there?
While I'm on the subject, (?) remember the fuss about three or four months ago when a new pedestrian crossing was installed in Carnarvon Road with pictures of smiling councillors taking their turn crossing from one side to the other being photographed and crossing back again. Then it was switched off and has not worked since. Can you see a pattern developing here?
I'm off to buy shares in a railings company.
Just a thought: Perhaps if they could have hoiked the mine ashore and detonated it in Un-fountain Square we could have used the money saved on the railings there to pay for the ones on the crossing.
I should be a councillor me. I'm obviously as daft as the current batch and I could use the allowance money to pay for a fence to keep burglars and child-molesters away from my crisp stocks.

Oh Vicar .............."You are naughty "
i'll have to dust off that Best of the Week rosette we used to have .
Just had a thought ,BING ,now that the gates are not manned at all times ,would an invasion of Frinton- on -Loos (Allenville)be easier ???

As old Ivan quietly walks away unsure of vicars mood swings again.. .. . . .. .. ..
while thinking about Frintonias new mayor, and the fact that our vicar needs a P..

The word "imressive" is defined in my dictionary as "simultaneously both puzzling and alarming".
I call it 'my dictionary' as it is a living document and is constantly added to as I make more and more typos and need to define them ffor the public benefit.
It's happened again, the word "ffor" is Welsh for the number between three and ffive.
Best stop there it's time for one of my green pills.

ivan burit

Old Ivan tippy tip toes back in to peep round the corner to see if its all clear to enter.
Hi vicar, read about your mid 3 - 5`s on here, and wondered if in fact your ffors are iffors,
or are iffors different from normal ffors.
some may even think iffors are ffor the elite, being internet enabled versions of normal ffors, or is that a bit of an iffy question.
as old Ivan puts on his grandads WW2 home guard helmit to sstop any ffallout fflack ffrom ffalling.
