Heyho! I've been gone a while now, so fill me in on what I've missed please before I temporarily move back to Essex for a few months
Been checking the local rag and cannot believe that at least one half of Stephanny is still in the council (and also cannot believe that I'm still on their website, four years later ), I noticed the wind turbines up and in use the last time I was down which is quite cool I think, and that the blooming fountain feature thing in the town centre has been switched off (why?!) so what a waste of money that was.
&, shameless self promo: anybody looking for childcare or know anyone who is? Particularly a nanny? I babysit too

Welcome back Nikadi interesting that you should point up "waste" a good topic if ever there was one.
May I nominate the "blue chip" fiasco at Harwich that is proving a costly failure as second in the race for "waste".

Fountain was working yesterday .
Still fenced off with what must be the cheapest ,nastiest fence TDC could have found at the back of the store cupboard.
Why don't they just put a sign up instead ,saying ,Play in Fountain at own risk.
After all ,no-one would know what made them ill . The Sea ? ,The Fountain ? or some of the dirty looking eateries in town.
May just take you up on the babysitting offer Nik.

TDC seem very good at these nasty fences Lin when people saw the fences around the headland enclosing "The War Department" as it is known locally and the 2 kilometer fence around Bathside Bay and then the fence around the Harwich school and others in this area all straight out of a concentration camp, they were outraged.
To get revenge, for nothing short of that will suffice, pick on a lovely area that some "Leader" lives nearby and fence off using such techniques.
Any other suggestions to bring home the awfulness of what they do, in our name?
