Have you ever noticed, when a petty thief just out of short trousers is caught in Woolworths pinching chocolate and claims he did not know he should not take the sweetie he is told ignorance is no excuse. But, when the mighty fall they always use this same excuse to limit damage, and they expect to be believed.

Hmm, Peter Hain in particular seems to be very forgetful, it appears that there are a few more donations which were never registered, more administrative erros one wonders.......?

Yes Pepsi, and to rub it in he apologised too.
Can you imagine the judge listening to that after the person in the dock had been found guilty.
I suppose it would be churlish to say that, to these people it has become familiar to operate this way and being so accepted probably doesn't seem wrong anymore.
The value of the old adage, 'two wrongs don't make a right' is still intact but it would appear 'twenty wrongs do'.

My big fear is that as this goverment has got away for so long by abusing the language, the position and the electorate it has now appeared to become acceptable.
The other main parties have seen what has been got away with by Labour and therefore wonder [maybe think] that they should also then be able to get away with the same abuse and this is how you manage to get into government and hang on to it.
I really hope my fears are unfounded but I do wonder.....

Changing tack but coming under the same heading,
Our newly younger looking (made up) (cosmetic surgery) great leader Brown has gone abroad looking for all the world a fool dishing out huge sums of money to China and India as state aid, but did China really need it???
It seems we need a loan to pay of debacles like Northern Rock so we'll be paying through the nose with interest to those same people we GAVE state aid.
Tell me I'm dreaming
