Me, I just stepped outside into the sunshine, looked at the glorious yellow of the daffodils, listened to the birds singing and smiled because I was here to see the sunshine and flowers and listen to the birds.

Funny really what a cancer diagnoses can do for you Very Happy

Hi Pepsi welcome to the madhouse Wink
I have to agree with you about the glorious weather we had yesterday ,waking up to brilliant sunshine helps the day to start and gives the incentive to do something .....me ? ,well ,the sun kindly illuminated all the dusty corners that have been lurking in the grey gloom of winter ,so we are all nice and sparkly now (thanks to Kim and Aggies tips)and smelling of vinegar Laughing .
I do hope you are coping ok with your diagnosis ,nothing can prepare anyone for it but fingers crossed all will be alright for you.I am sure all the other lovely and slighty nutty folk on this site will be thinking of you and wishing you well.
Daffodils are the herald of Spring so it should be all go in the gardens now,if only my naughty puppy would learn that it is NOT a good idea to keep biting the heads off them whenever the fancy takes him.
My smile for the day has to be the explosion of frogs spawn in my pond ,I love to watch them emerging and growing into froglets.

Welcome Pepsi, as our Lin say`s to the Mad House...Who says i`m King Hatter....lol..... Yellow, i love yellow, i suffer from boring old fart synndrome (ex night worker really) that used to live like a Mushrom in the winter months..(kept in the dark and fed bulsh*t)...lol...This also included, or not ? getting to see much good daylight.... And so when the first sign of spring comes with the arrival of yellow Daf`s..Its as if a dark cloud has gone, and lights up your world....I love yellow.....Yellow is not loved by everyone, my best reason for being a Grandad, aged 7, hates yellow, yellow and black, says it reminds her of Bees, Bees can sting Grandad, she tells me, i hate Bees..... I try to tell her about nice things that are yellow...Flowers, Fruits, Nannies old Triumph Spitfire (long gone now), Easter Egg chicks, the middle of boiled eggs.... Grandads teeth....lol...(poetic licence)....She say`s, well, yes, but, but, i still dont like yellow grandad....So grandad will have to do, what Grandad has to do in times like this and just happen to point out ALL the things nice, that are yellow, when we go for our walks and talks......YELLOW, I like Yellow, dont you.........

So glad to hear you are a Happy Bunny Ivan.

Yesterday was my middle Grandsons 7th birthday(we call him Yoda due to him being born on Star Wars Day) and it made me smile when he blew out the candles on his Dalek cake and then got the present he has wanted for ages .....a trampoline.Luckily they have no close neighbours so he can Bing to his little hearts desire....

Sounds petty, but what made me smile this morning at least was that my boyfriend isn't going out with his friends on the 19th so he can say happy birthday to me at midnight Smile And he's coming to the dreaded family dinner :p That makes me a bit happier haha.

....................."We call it Black Tar River".....................

As it happens, thats a very good tittle Lin.

That very road, is one i have never been down, but pass daily..
Just up the road is Sackets Grove, i / we had a caravan on site for about 6 years, and still never been down that road, but often heard the sound of machinary at night over that way...

Black tar river - not one of Chris Rear`ends songs is it..?
I only say that, because he sang all poeticaly about stuff like Highway To Hell (M25)
Yet another gem was called Texas........He has loads that i like..but not to all tastes i expect........

So, just what made me smile today........

Well, today we had the bestest reason to be a grandad, come down to visit for the day, along with mum and dad...
Raining or not, me and the younger one went for a walk to the Marshmello Tower, it was shut, but no worries, we walked round then back through the puddles splashing as we went..(mum not seeing us...lol..)
We then went along the seas edge picking up seashells and white marble stones, while trying to say...
She sells sea shells from the sea shore...faster and faster as we walked....lol...

This went on for a while until the doggy poo bag that grandad always has in his pocket..(what else can you carry in your coat pockets..).. was near to full, when it dawned on me that the funny looks we were getting from concerned passers by, was because it looked like we were carrying a bag full of poo, and putting stones in it as we went..........h...ha....ha......

Strike 1 for Ivan the most terrible, and his 7 year old helper.......

At this point, the younger of us two said in the most urgent of voices...grandad, i need to go to the loo, quickly.....

So the younger one was ordered along at a terrible pace across the wastes of Jaywicks beaches until refuge was found at youngist daughters place, with by now, a 7 year olds voice shrieking QUICK, i need to go NOW......

With much chucking off of the wet, sandy, wellie boots, the youngest one made it to the safe haven of the much tiled new bathroom of No. 2`s daughters bathroom....

And grandad does what he always does.........

Laugh a lot..........

Shame about the weather in one way though....never got to up and down the road with the youngist one on grandads scoot....beep - beep.....faster grandad....lol...

Next time though........

And so yet another day passes by, not to be forgotten, for ever and ever..(grandad)..x.......p.s. the sea shells and stones got washed in nannies sink...x...

Still smilling as i type this.......lol..........

Ah but it kept the Grockles in their Grundy Bins or stood in the middle of Woolies looking vacant .....the twighlight zone is alive and kicking in Woolies......
Did you see the double rainbow after though?
I have had to go and have words with my neighbour as he has been praying for some rain to water his tatty plot ,I told him enough is enough ,after all, that downpour filled 3 water butts in 10 minutes.

Talking about children ,I asked my Grandson(the oldest one) who was his best friend ,he thought for a minute and said "You are my best friend because you make the best scrambled eggs in the world and take me to the Library so I can get a book and fall into it" Bless his heart.I love the very bones of him as he is a bit special.

So you work in the PO ,wasn't that where they had a raid recently?? It makes me so mad when someone decides to just help themselves and have no thought as to what their actions may do to someone.Hope you have all got over it a bit ,though I imagine it stays in your mind every time someone looking a bit dodgy walks in the shop.

New Day.......
New smiles.........
As its been posted before, myself and the "little boy" do like a scooter or two, and over the weekend, one scoot went, to be replaced with a nice`n shiney silver Li 125 Lambretta....
As it was a long weekend, today was the day. said shiney silver "lammy" was riden to colchester for an MOT....
We looked at the rain clouds, said s*d it, put on waterproof clothes, rode to Colchester, got the MOT done, and was about to ride home whem old lammy was not having none of it.......
So we tried and tried to start it....nope....nuffin.....
Now if you have ever thought what it was like for a baby, with plastic type waterproof nappies on was like, try kick starting, or not as was the case, a stubbon 43 year old lammy, that was showing orf....lol...
Ones body gets very, shall we say, damp......lol...
So after a while, the outer layers of clothing start to be peeled orf, with me doing my best not to laugh, as "little boy" was getting more and more annoyed with 43 year old lammy, which still was being stubbon.............lol......
Now, as i had already told a story of a 7 year old who needed a pee, old men need to pee to......
OH DEAR, i was covered in plastic type water proof clothing.......lol...
I looked this way, then that way, but not a rest room was to be seen.....
As if by magic from above, said silver 43 year old lammy coughed and spluttered into life, hooray i thought, please keep going......
So "little boys" water proofs were hurriedly put back on, while a slightly sweating 59 year old kept the engine going on silver lammy....
We could not get home fast enough..........lol............lol................
But not yet....
On the way home, i remembered that i still had to collect some medication from the health centre, so we popped into said centre, to find my much needed medication was not been prescribed yet.......Ho-Hum....
We waited and waited, until all was collected....
So, back out to silver lammy, and, you guessed it.....nothing....b*gger all....lol...
We kicked it, we pushed it........
Old 59 year old ended up pushing little boy on silver lammy down the road...
Now it gets funny, while i`m pushing, my water proofs started falling down as i ran pushing faster and faster, so i`m pushing and trying to hold up waterproof trousers at the same time......ooh eer...............lol...
Eventualy, Ivan the terrible managed to get home to the rest room, but sweated of pounds of in the meanwhile....

Now if that never made you smile, what will.........lol............

Well this made me smile and restored my beleif in teenagers being OK really.
As I was walking my 4 month puppy last night ,we decided to go over the railway bridge to Vista Road.
1/4 of the way up the puppy started to get a bit agitated and when I looked up to the top of the steps there was a teenager (about 17)coming down ,with his hood up ,wearing black ect.
At first I was a bit wary because he did look quite intimidating. Then he saw us and took his hoodie down as he was aware it was spooking the dog(let alone me!).He apologised for frightning us and when he got close I could see his face was covered in cuts and bruises. He explained that he had been the victim of a 'Hit and Run' whilst riding his bike at the weekend ,I wished him a full recovery and realised the only reason he had his hood up was to cover his injuries.
So ,not all these rather intimidating looking teenagers are all bad and he has put my mind at rest .
What a shame though ,that I felt nervous in the first place, but do hope they catch the so and so that did this to him.
My faith in teenagers is restored and perhaps if others can follow this young mans example we will not feel afraid of the younger ones so much.
