Anyone wanna guess who Labour plan to put forward for this position.....if they get enough councillors on.......in fact I dont think poor Bill Bleakley was buried before we heard the first rumours of who they plan to replace him with. I hope their plans are ruined.....it should be someone who has served the community for years and not some jumped up little councillor who likes free holidays Mad Mad

Fingers crossed for tomorrow then. If labour take majority its done and dusted, if they dont however it looks less likely.

Looks like Mr Double won't get what he wants. Labour look like they have lost control of the town council. Just waiting to hear on one last seat.

Well i didn't expect that!

Presumably Steven will be leader of the council and mayor to boot then. Lots of Labour's councillors kicked out.

Lol. You presume wrong lol. Steven at present does not want to be mayor. The bigger story would be about the CRP's disabled cllr's and what is going to be done as the Guildhall has never been made disabled friendly as Labour always denied it could be.

Labour cllrs left - Payne, Calver, Mcleod, Double and Morrison

You have just got to laugh Laughing Laughing Laughing

I don't know. I do know that for now the guildhall cannot and will not be used. I think several years ago this was brought up and certain cllrs in charge said it was to expensive to do anything and they couldn't do anything anyway as it was a listed building. I think they just thought that they would be in charge till whenever and that it would not matter. Some people consider themselves to be above the laws of this land, laws their own party brought in.

The listed excuse has not worked for other buildings look at Kingsway Hall new access for the disabled. It is a listed building but only grade 2.

Yeah but look who was making that excuse, say anything as long as you can put all the money where you want and not where it should be

Lol.

Who wants to put money on Labour being hypocrites and joining in the alliance with tendring first. You know the people they spent the last 4 yrs slagging off when they went under the name of conservatives.

Well it seems that poor Steven Henderson is getting a lot of people congratulating him on becoming the new High Steward......which he isnt.....he just nominated the new one...Chris Strachan.

Its a shame that a seasoned reporter managed to get the headline so wrong 'Steven Chosen as High Steward'. Very poorly done Debbie Siggery.
