In a world that gets madder by the day,
Braintree Police are being taught how to speak Polish......

And bankers in Ipswich also did their part by learning Polish to help customers while adverts written in Polish started appearing in newspapers last year.
Inspector Gordon Ashford of Essex Police said: “As part of an initiative with the Learning Skills Council our local police officers and community support officers are currently learning Polish with a view to extending our beat surgeries to this section of our community.”

I like the idea, but I think it should be offered as an additional course, not forced (I haven't read the article and I'm guessing here). It's always helpful if service-men can help a wider range of people, but they should have the choice to do so and a range of languages to choose from (I'd gladly pick up any languages if they were offered!) _________________ =D |
