OK, its been a bit of a problem with Taxis and mini cabs parking in town center, or trying to access certain areas in town center..

Its not as bad as Romfords parking enforcement..YET....

http://www.romfordrecorder.co.uk/...20Feb%202008%2011%3A40%3A28%3A253

Parking enforcement has Smart Cars equipped with periscope cameras which just take digital photos without getting out of the cars to do so..

Many times disabled drivers, legaly parked with blue badge permits on show get "snapped" by periscope cam, then  later have enforcement fine notices posted through front doors.
From the rear view photos, periscope cam cannot detect Blue Badges on show, therefore, a reply to enforcement to explain this in most cases gets the fine quashed...............(if you see what i mean).....

As yet this so called modern marval of cost effectiveness has yet to be tried in our Town Center...but to be for warned is to be forarmed with this free knowledge....lol..

Was sent this joke...i thought it funny.....you may not, depending,
A, if you have a sence of humor.

B, if you ever tried to park in our Town centre or not,

C, if you drive or not...

Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make their days interesting.

Well, the other day my wife and I went into town and went into a shop.

We were only in there for about three minutes.

When we came out, there was a policeman writing out a parking ticket.

We went up to him and said, 'Come on man, how about giving us senior citizens a break?

He ignored us and continued writing the ticket. So I called him a N*zi tu*d.

He glared at me and started writing another ticket for having worn tyres.

So my wife called him a sh*t head.

He finished the second ticket and put it on the windscreen with the first.

Then he started writing a third ticket.

This went on for about 20 minutes.

The more we abused him, the more tickets he wrote.

Personally, we didn't care.

We came into town by bus!!

We try to have a little fun each day now that we're retired.

It's important at our age!

I once had a fracas with a warden that jumped out and got me for a ten second violation, anyhow I drove away much to my wifes relief.  Oddly enough we returned much later to see him still waiting in the shop doorway where he had nabbed me from, well it ignited a fresh round of fury in me and I told him so.  His colour turned ever redder, he not liking my advice that his primary job was to keep traffic moving, when he had turned almost blue my wife urged me away saying he looked like he would had a heart attack any minute.  As I drove away I did not feel the slightest pang of remorse.

So what does this tell us about drivers and driving, for goodness sake don't tell me he was just doing his job.

amenity, 2 sides to my answer.

1) in town centres, built up areas, outside schools, its sometimes important not to park in certain areas,

but,

2) some thick skinned naz* type little hitlers go overboard at being just too enthusiastic in what they do for a living.

as posted earlier, in Romfords areas, parking enforcement has been taken to big brother proportions of an Orwellian scale...
cars with periscope mounted cameras.........
