Has anyone seen the new covering for the Ramsey roundabout? When I first spotted the changes made I wondered how long it would be before harm came to some poor smile through no fault of their own.
Stones the size of house bricks just plonked on top of the roundabout ready to be fired of at any moment and quite likely into the windscreen of a car coming in the opposite direction and the driver would have no chance, kill the wretch outright.
Hope it's not me.
Come on Highways Agency have a look at this dangerous arrangement.

Sorry amenity, i have not had the chance yet to witness this cannon fodder you speak of, but, when i read that part of your post i fell about laughing.....WHY..?
I will never admit to it, SHHHH......but...
i was doing my neighbourly thing last week, in cutting my next door neighbours rear garden grass, quite a lot grass as it happens.
In her frontage, she has block paving, and weed grows between the cracks, so i pulled most of the offending weeds into a pile, i had the mower to hand, so as a lightbulb went "blink" above my head, i used the mower to collect it in..
as i was "collecting it nicely" i also collected a stone that came out with such a force it exited sideways going strait through a plumbers van side window unloading accross the other side of the road..... CRACK it went, as i looked up the window shattered into a million pieces.......OOOPS...i said...
fraid i`ve just broken your van window i said to startled plumber & mate....
Ha..ha..ha.. then said - said plummers, it will be covered on insurance, said they...
Half hour later still on his mobile phone, worried looking plumber said, £200 for window, or £50 excess and claim...................
My turn to look worried now, as it looks like being neighbourly, is going to cost me £50 for "cutting" someone elses grass (and a stone)...
The lightbulb that went blink earlier on had now gone plop, and had gone out....
SO, your roundabout with cannon foder ready and waiting for an unsuspecting passing window......
PLEASE SOMEONE, dont let that blink of a lightbulb go plop after an accident.....
It`ll cost more than my £50 quid matey.............lol....
oh dear, never a dull moment in Jaywick...EH.? _________________ Hear no Evil, Speak no Evil,

Ivan ,your poor wife must need eyes in the back of her head to keep up with your antics.bad Boy ,go and sit on the naughty step.
Talking of roundabouts in Harwich ,you must have someone there in the planning or whatever dept they hide in ,that really dislikes you .I have always said that horrible blue ,shattered windowscreen glass on the roundabout near morrisons is the most awful example of how to get it really wrong. What a mess. Why are you in Harwich not allowed to have some greenery on your roundabouts ?.
Now I will have to go to Harwich and have a look at this new attempt at someone obviously thinking 'outside the box'.....look out though ,you know it always rains when I go to Harwich ...which day is best for your downpour ? |

Dearest Lin, my wifey has indeed eyes in the back of her head, for what other reason would she keep her glasses so far back on her head as to "lose them" when she needs them most.
I suspect she needs them most in keeping an eye out for me.........lol.. _________________ Hear no Evil, Speak no Evil,

amenity, seriously, E C Council Highways department must be informed of this actual road hazard.
If by having placed dangerous structures upon, or near to, the public highway, knowingly it to be dangerous insomuch as causing bodily injury or possable bodily injury, to either passing pedestrians, passenger or drivers, makes E C C liable for any damage or injury to said persons or vehicles.
If transportation by road of a dangerous load, or load liable to become unstable or dangerous, the transportee`s are liable for its outcome.
Not sure if the person or persons who sanctioned, placed or transported into place dangerous articles, or articles which become unstable by nature as being not suitable for its / their intended purpose, [example] stones/rocks / loose surfaces, not only adiquate advance warning by roadside signs advising vehiculer transport of the possable DANGER ahead, MUST be entered into position, butare said persons also liable for injury, or damage to either persons or vehicles.
IN SHORT.....
get the eediots who placed them, to move them..
Give the old Gazette a call, get photographs now of the actual danger to all who pass by.
Call Douglas Carswells office.
Call the road safety officer at County Hall.
Call the Highways inspectorate.
Call a friendly Soliciter, giving advance warning of "possable" claim for injury / damage.
Today i am out the area, so cannot get to see this disgracefull roundabout amenity, so for that i`m sorry... _________________ Hear no Evil, Speak no Evil,

Thanks for your support Ivan.
Something is being done will let you know the progress.
Out of curiosity a case occurred where a cats eye came loose and was flicked by a vehicle into the path of another driver killing him and these stones look even trickier. |
