Jaywick Environmental Clean Up Day
5th July 2008
There will be a refuse collection vehicle parked at the following locations,
St. Christophers Way car park 08:00 until 09:00
Tamarisk Way car park 09:05 until 10:05
Resource Centre, Brooklands 10:10 until 11:10
for the collection of bagged rubbish and unwanted household items that residents would like to dispose of. The household items that can be brought for disposal are fridges, freezers, washing machines, tumble driers, TV’s, furniture and mattresses. Materials such as bedding and clothing must be bagged. Only items that residents bring to the collection points will be disposed of.
The Community Wardens and PCSO’s will be available on the day to help with the pre-arranged collection of items and loading of the vehicle.
If you are not able to get items that you want to dispose of to the collection points due to being elderly or disabled then please contact:
Steve Foster at Tendring DC on 01255 686757
Margaret O’Dell from the Interaction Partnership on 01255 686373
Or the Community Wardens whilst they are out on patrol...
ALSO, if anyone out there that you know of, who cares enough about his / her community, there is also a clear out / clean up / of the dyke / ditch between Brooklands and Grasslands too...
Thankyou..

It's such a shame that other areas locally do not do this.
On my short travels I see so much stuff dumped ,the one that always gets me is the sofas on the bypass .Why bother to drive all the way there and dump your rubbish ,surely the dump is nearer and I'm da** sure that they were not carried there by hand.
Well Done Jaywick for doing this.
Oh and Ivan ,watch out for adders when you are near the ditches ,I know they are there as we used to catch them as kids (please ,any young people ...DO NOT touch adders ...they have a nasty bite .If it slithers and you are not ABSOLUTELY 100% certain DON'T TOUCH IT !!!!!).
Do you know how we up our end could get this sort of thing going Ivan ??? |
