The Golden slipper, has slipped once more...

by another £9 million.

in our cash strapped society at the moment, can we ever accept it will be years behind its opening date,
well, we may have to get used to that... Rolling Eyes

I thought this is the root of the problem Ivan as it is with NHS procurement and so on and so on ad infinitum.

“I believe that what will happen is a deal will be struck between the funders saying that whoever gets the work will have to sign a contract on a fixed sum with a fixed finish date,” he said. “They will have to be on absolute, fixed figures with no possibility of any over-runs. I am not entering into anything that could incur more cost for the council.”

Firstsite themselves, are doing much good work in our community,
being the driving force behind the many things happening in and around our martello tower, its grounds, and extended areas.

But the first thing one asks is why ?
Why in our community ?

Then i trawl back into my saved files to find the answer amenity.

Regeneration is the prime moving factor of course.........lol

But i enjoy the feast before the slaughter......

Art is for arts sake, or is it for the builders sake.

The Whitechapel, in East London is undergoing a $20 milion or more regeneration scheme.

Seen through the eyes of the New York Times:-

If so wish I had made a visit then. Rolling Eyes

amenity, the very words old fashioned are,
old fashioned, i`ll explain.
I am now driving a cheap`ish to run diesel estate car, my very own "nice car" being taken over by my very big mum to be daughter.
All going tickity boo so far,
but, my young grand daughter got into my cheep`ish to run mondeo and as she got in, stated,
grand dad, why is your car so old fashioned...

If it was new, it would be modern.
If it was not new, how not new is it to be before it gets old.
If its old, how old is old fashioned.

now the big question,
how old is modern ?

We have the Tate Modern, and we have the Tate, this is where i get confused,
we have  "a" Tate in St. Ives too.
Is the St. Ives Tate modern, as its nearly new...
Or old fashioned as its only nearly new..
ha--ha--ha--, ok, all this is a bit tonque in cheek i know, but.

The Whitechapel is very old, in a very dirty downtrodden area, opposite the Royal London Hospital i believe.
Like most areas recieving monies for regeneration projects, they (the regen "experts") use the new arts centers as a hub for regeneration.

ok, back full circle again.
The VAF was heralded as the center of Colchesters regeneration hub.

We have our own much improved Martello Tower as our regen hub, with its associated programmes, one being a 3 month duration on site piece called controversy, or, 46 Brooklands Gardens, to give its correct title..

In a few years time, i can hear someone say, granddad, thats so anchient, while looking at a rusted framed, white planked shaped building sitting quitely in a field somewhere....

The V A F is moving foreward i read, its borrowing another £2 million quid.

Not sure what way to see this ?

If a beer glass is half full, is it half empty, or half full.

Is the V A F half built, or only halfway through construction...

ok, back to the beer......lol...(if only)

If every person living in Colchester over nineteen years of age paid rates/council tax it would still cost each one £168.

But of course they don't.

Small change really.
